In this part of the world, the first rain of the year only seems to come after a storm. We had two nights of thunder and lightning over the Hajar mountains near the Oman border, but no rain. The day after this beautiful sunset, the rain finally came our way. I love the way the clouds seem to be ‘painted’ onto the sky, layer by layer.

Lovely painted clouds! These are very nice indeed.
Thank you – I wish I knew how to take a panoramic shot as it was more spectacular in reality. But then, isn’t everything?

Same as with me Safia, I always love the sky especially its color when sunset.
Yes, it’s such a special time of day, isn’t it? A bit like autumn in the year and I know you love that too from some of the photos you posted recently. 🙂
Hahha, u know me 🙂
Romantic at heart?! 😉
hahaha a bit, don’t you?!
Of course! 😉
the sky and clouds look stunning and rain, rain. I remember rain in Abu Dhabi in our new Alraha garden villa. It kept raining on our heads in the bedroom we needed to go to sleep to the other room and put a ball to catch the rain.
We got a lot of rain today and what morning I had! Took Layla to school at 7.30-ish as usual (she was excited about starting extra-curricular activities, gymnastics after school until 4pm). A gale was blowing up when I dropped her off and the tents they’ve erected for National Day (2 December) were getting a battering. At 9-ish, got a text to say the school was cancelling the exams, the outdoor activities, and sending the kids home at 10am. I thought it was a bit extreme, but by the afternoon (when I’d have been picking her up) we had thunder, lightning and torrential rain – they made the right choice to protect the kids and keep us all off the road, I think.
